We are in the process of adding routes to the 1979 RetroRide GTFS file. The data in RetroRide for each line can be categorized as follows:

Authentic	Schedule data using routes and timepoints taken from an actual public timetable from the 1977~1979 era and with some exceptions, from 1976 or 1980. Our goal is to timetables as close to 1979 as possible.
Future Times	Schedule data using as best known, the route from 1979 (based on the SCRTD 1979 system map) and timepoints from the first available schedule that we have in the 1980s. The route and route number may have changed from 1979 to our schedule but we will make our best efforts to build a timetable. This may include taking data from two different 1980s timetables and joining them together and syncronizing headway (time between buses).
Hybrid	Schedule data using a "future times" schedule above and combining it with simulated data. This was done in cases where we had enough data to do one part of the line but had no schedule data for the other portion of the route.
Simulation	Schedule built based on very basic known information about the route where a timetable (authentic or future) is not available. Simulated schedules are simply for fulfilling routing and should not be relied on as an authorative reference to headway and service span (hours of operation in a day).

The goal of the RetroRide SoCal 1979 project is to get all authentic schedules from the RetroRide period (1975~1980 and as close to 1979 as possible).

So far, RetroRide has data in some way, shape and form for all but two local service lines (305 & 306) and a few special services (512/514, BEEP, Minibus and LAX Airport Express). Many routes that are currently listed below as future times or simulation will be upgraded to authentic during the first part of 2018.

In addition, we have acquired public timetables for various other systems during the RetroRide period and plan to build those systems in separate GTFS files:

Santa Monica Municipal Bus Lines
Orange County Transit District
Omnitrans (San Bernardino County)

We still need scans of schedules from other LA county municipal carriers such as Culver City, Gardena, Norwalk, Torrance and Long Beach. Please help if you can. Once these files have been built, you will be able to do a trip plan involving more than one carrier (e.g. ride from El Monte to Fontana using both RTD and Omnitrans).
